Making a Splash on a Crowded Trade Show Floor: Lessons from Vasion at AWS Summit
Lessons from Vasion at AWS Summit
When thousands of attendees are walking the show floor, simply showing up isn't enough. The brands that leave a lasting impression are the ones that create memorable experiences.
That's exactly what we set out to accomplish while supporting Vasion at both AWS Summit New York City and AWS Summit Washington, D.C.
Each event had its own audience and energy, but one thing remained consistent: intentional booth experiences created meaningful conversations.
Standing Out Starts with a Clear Message
One of the simplest, and most effective, decisions was making Vasion's value proposition immediately visible.
The booth header, "Eliminate Print Servers," quickly communicated exactly what Vasion offers, helping the right attendees identify the booth from across the expo floor. Rather than asking visitors to figure out what the company did, the messaging invited the right conversations from the very beginning.
Experiences Beat Giveaways
Swag will always attract attention, but memorable experiences keep people engaged.
One of the biggest conversation starters at both events was Vasion's live Printer Cam demonstration. Attendees could snap a selfie at the booth, instantly send it to a live printer back at Vasion's headquarters, and watch their photo print in real time.
It was unexpected, interactive, and naturally opened the door for product demonstrations and conversations about Vasion's technology.
Of course, we also made sure attendees had something tangible to remember the brand with, from stickers and flyers to the always-popular Vasion socks.
Every Show Requires a Different Strategy
No two trade shows are the same.
In New York City, the expo floor was packed with exhibitors competing for attention. High-energy interactions, eye-catching demonstrations, and popular giveaways like Vasion's t-shirts helped create steady booth traffic throughout the event.
Washington, D.C. presented a different opportunity.
One of the standout features was Vasion's Headshot Lounge, which became one of the busiest attractions on the show floor. Long after traditional giveaways had been claimed, attendees continued visiting the booth for professional headshots, creating ongoing opportunities for conversations and lead generation.
Being the only exhibitor offering a headshot experience also reinforced the value of strong event planning and strategic partnerships with AWS.
The Biggest Takeaway
The most successful booths don't necessarily have the biggest budgets, they're simply the most intentional.
A clear message.
An engaging experience.
A reason for attendees to stop.
And a team that's ready to turn curiosity into meaningful conversations.
At Unusually Unusual, that's exactly what we love helping clients create. Whether it's developing interactive activations, coordinating logistics, or finding creative ways to stand out in a crowded expo hall, thoughtful event strategy makes all the difference.
Because making a splash isn't about being the loudest booth on the floor, it's about being the one attendees remember long after the event ends.
